Miss Jamaica Universe 2008 Finalists




Jamaica has chosen 25 beauties who will compete for the crown of Miss Jamaica Universe 2008.

The 25 Finalists are Salome Campbell, Xinyu Addae-Lee, Sherene Duncan, Francine Hall, Stasha-Guaye Leon, Keren O'Neil, Latoya Samuels, Roshane Suarez, Jeseka Williams, the beautifully poised Rebecca Silvera, Doneika Plowright, Jesmaine Brown, Cherrion Ebanks, Nickela Garwood, Jhnnele Eastman whom the crowd absolutely loves, Crystal Gordon, Nicole Hopkins, Noelle Kerr, Lauri-Ann Ainsworth, crowd favourite Kadia Campbell, Kimberly Gunnings, Antoinette Ming, Borzana Jones, Adrianna Bryan and April Jackson.

The final is scheduled for April 12th and the winner will receive a $1 million dollar cash prize as well as a brand new, fully loaded 120i BMW.

New Pageant from Posh Entertainment Productions
To Spotlight Environmental Causes
KINGSTON, JAMAICA – March 11, 2008 – In March 2008, Carousel Productions Inc., licensed Posh Entertainment Productions Ltd. to produce the local pageant to select a Jamaican representative for the Miss Earth Pageant. ®
The young woman, who receives the prestigious title of Miss Earth Jamaica, will become a Goodwill Ambassador and Spokesperson for Jamaica, its environmental and tourism industries. She will work with environmental projects and educate our people on the three R's (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) which will contribute to ensuring that Jamaica remains an eco-friendly tourist destination. Jamaica's current economic mainstay is tourism and Posh Entertainment Productions along with Miss Earth Jamaica will work towards ensuring that private as well as corporate citizen's work together to preserve our environment. It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that our environment remains a
safe place for both our people and our wildlife.
The Search Is On to find the most beautiful woman to represent Jamaica at one of the third largest International Pageant, Miss Earth® held in Manila, Philippines from October 19 to November 10, 2008. We are looking for motivated young women who will proudly represent Jamaica in fulfilling the ideals of the competition – while becoming an effective advocate for Mother Earth.
The Miss Earth Jamaica Beauty Pageant is open to all young female between the ages of 18-26, who are unmarried, never given birth; minimum height of 5 feet 5 inches; possess
beauty of face and proportionate body structure; outgoing and friendly; excellent physical condition; has knowledge of her country's culture and environment; shall either have been born in Jamaica, be the child of a Jamaican parent, or is a naturalized citizen of Jamaica. Applications are now being accepted for 2008 Miss Earth Jamaica.

Trinidad Picks its representatives for Miss World and Miss Universe

Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2007 is.... Ingrid Rivera!!

The new Miss Puerto Rico Universe is Ingrid Marie Rivera, 24, (left). She represented the town of Dorado. Rivera was crowned Friday night at the Centro de Bellas Artes in Santurce. Her runner-up was (Cynthia Olavarria lookalike) Claudia Cruz Bosch of Santurce, the second runner-up was Kristina Ruisanchez of Trujillo Alto,the third runner-up was Maribel Montalvo of Utuado, the fourth runner-up was Amanda Diaz of Isabela and the fifth runner-up was Ivelisse del Valle of Bayamón who was chosen by Sprint text voters. Ingrid was also chosen as Miss Photogenic. In 2005, Rivera was crowned Miss World Puerto Rico and placed third in Miss World. Ingird is the third Puerto Rican beauty queen to have won both the national titles for Miss World and Miss Universe. Joyce Giraud was crowned Miss World Puerto Rico in 1994 and then Miss Puerto Rico Universe in 1998. Likewise, Sarybel Velilla was crowned Miss World Puerto Rico in 1996 and then Miss Puerto Rico Universe in 2000.


It would appear that it was not all smiles backstage. The Miss Puerto Rico Organization has revealed that Ingrid's gown and makeup were spiked with pepper spray . This caused her to break out into hives. The organization has sent the dress and maskeup to be analysed and are lauching an investigation to find the culprit responsible.



The story has generated lots of interest worldwide and Ingrid has appeared on the Ellen Degenerees Show , The Morning Show with Meredith Viera and on CNN with Don Lemon.
